Why should you go to Hunts Marine when looking for a new boat?

As an island nation (albeit a very big island!), the sea and aquatic way of life comes naturally to many Australians. Some of us prefer to while the hours away lounging on a sun-drenched beach, whereas others take to the waves on a surfboard. Perhaps you simply enjoy the pleasures of swimming in the cool waters of a secluded cove, or you're one of the growing number of people that love to take a boat out, and that's only natural. After all, there are a whole raft of reasons to get out on the water, whether you're out there in a small tinny or an extravagant overnighter.

However, when you're looking to purchase a new boat, either for the first time or the fiftieth, it can be difficult to know where to start, or who to buy from. Let's take a look at just why you should make Hunts Marine your boat dealer of choice when you're purchasing a shiny new craft.

We're family owned, with a wealth of experience

Way back when in 1946, an engineer named Edwin Hunt, who had a big passion for game fishing, built a showroom filled with standard design boats, largely made up of wooden launches and plywood dinghies. This is where the Hunts Marine story begins, and over the remainder of the 20th century, Edwin, along with his sons Ted and Peter, steadily built the Blakehurst business to the hugely respected, thriving firm that people know and love today.

We have built up a broad wealth of boating knowledge over the years, passed down between generations, that few other firms can boast.

In the 70 years that have passed since Edwin set up shop, Hunts Marine has remained in family hands. Today, Edwin's grandson, Jon, is at the the Hunts Marine helm, meaning that the business has now been in the Hunt family for three generations. In that time, we have built up a broad wealth of boating knowledge over the years, passed down between generations, that few other firms can boast.

Hence, this allows us to deliver well-informed advice to customers who are looking to buy a boat, so they will come away with a craft that is just perfect for their needs. Our reputation as a new and used boat dealer is unrivalled across Australia, and that's not an accolade that comes easily - it's earned with years of experience and a passion for boating that has been in the family for 70 years.

A choice of quality

We at Hunts Marine have three fantastic showrooms in our repertoire, located in Sydney, Wollongong and Batemans Bay. Each of them are full of a range of craft from a variety of trusted, established brands, such as Quintrex, Whittley, CruiseCraft, Glastron and Profile Boats, as well as Hobie Kayaks.
