Steering

This bezel suits the 280250 NON feedback helm above and sits 90 degrees to the dash. Its 130mm diameter and is 5cm deep. It comes with all the mounting hardware and the dimensions of the screw mounting centres is on the last picture.

This is the NON FEEDBACK tilt helm assembly Tilt steering is an option that allows the wheel to be pivoted through a 48° arc in 5 increments (42° up 6° down). Tilt helms have modified shafts and are for use with tilt mechanisms only. Helm and mechanism is required and are sold as a kit. Accepts the Quick Connect cable. All dimensions are in the last picture.

Replacement push in quick connect steering cables - no tools required to connect cable to helm. Length is measured from helm connection to large alloy nut that screws on to steering tube at motor end plus 450mm.

A simple but great product that stops your outboard, fitted with hydraulic steering, flopping from side to side when on the road. It's made from heavy duty nylon that wont scratch anything and can be cut down to suit if needed. It fits 15mm and 19mm shafts which is pretty much any brand of hydraulic steering. Just remember to take them out when you put your boat in the water.

This hydraulic steering fluid is made by Baystar/Seastar but can be used in any sort of outboard hydraulic steering system. Buy a bottle today and keep as a spare on the boat or back in the garage.

Whilst it may seem a little expensive, this filler/bleeder hose makes your life a whole lot easier when filling and/or bleeding your hydraulic steering system. Its what come standard in the full kits sold just below. It screws on to the top of the bottle and also screws into the filler hole on the helm. The hose is approx 500mm long.

The Seastar Front Mount kit is one of the best quality kits on the market and is what we use on all of our boats. It is designed for single engine installations up to 300hp (Please contact us if you are doing a twin install as we can help but need to know further details). It comes with a 50ft roll of SOFT hose with two reusable fittings. The Dometic SeaStar Power Purge Jr is a portable 12vdc automatic purging system for Dometic BayStar, Hydraulic and Dometic SeaStar hydraulic steering systems. The Power Purge Jr reduces the bleeding process to approximately 10 minutes. Supplied with quick connect fittings and hoses to suit a single cylinder installation with the option of purchasing a kit to suit twin cylinder installations. An integral screen filter helps erase oil contamination out of the system.
